A Case of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis

Abstract
|
|
|
A case of cutaneous leishmaniasis in a 41 year old adult male who had worked in
Saudi Arabia was presented. This patient visited the hospital because of a superficial
ulcer with surrounding papular edema on the dorsum of right hand. Diagnosis was
confirmed by detection of Leishman body on the Giemsa stain of the skin biopsy
specimen. This was one of the first case of Leishmaniasis to be found in Korea. A brief
review of literature was made.
